2nd Engine swap be4 JapFest!!!

Well now that Ken's engine is in ive come back to look at mine. Unfortunatly the head isnt ready and the new head gasket wont be ready until tomorrow sometime although what can you expect it is a favour and the gasket at trade.

Well hopefully I will get it done tomorrow but will keep you updated. Other than that ive started cleaning it a bit before i was tired so ive slept most of the day catching up ready for a long one when the head and gasket arrive.

but in future!! and to make a change ..maybe try lifting a probe lump out

spanners out here also just waiting for the rear cailpers hopefully

but if not who needs a handbrake.. best load a chock in the boot

Well i didnt get my heads back until 6.30 which was just about when i had to go out so didnt look at it. Its had a new valve seat, valve guide and a new stem seal. However, im using a valve and spring and spring cap from an 03 engine which is smaller than the ze which concerns me a little. Ive also had to change a second as ive noticed the spring cap was also cracked although hadnt actually dropped. Its getting late now and the head is ready. Im working for a few hours tomorrow and to be honest im begining to think it wont be ready in time. The deadline for engine in was tonight and its a bit late for that as the neighbours complain. Well im off to have something to eat and then might go and look at building the engine back up. My decision on comming will be posted here on Friday after 8.

Is anyone going down the M6, M5 way and want to meet if im comming???

Yeah right. Just have had a bad day thats all and having not lost my temper with Kens car at all ive finally lost it with mine!!! Told a few ppl where they can go and upset a few ppl. Guess id better apologise.

Well im not doing the engine tonight as im starting to feel tired. Will try and build it up and get it in in the morning before work so i can finish it tomorrow night.

Quick update for this morning. Managed to get up early (well ish) and got the head torqued down and the cams and lifters in. Need to do the cambelt when i get home and start dropping it in. Its my first day on a new contract and im already leaving early so i should be home about 4. Aim is to finish the engine and have it in by 4. Oh and one last thing i need to repair the drive shaft before it goes in. Long story.
