Banjo Bolt mod...by request.

Moved this here, I think it should be here.

Due to large interest, and Wolfie, Matts request.

Banjo Bolt Mod link. Dont forget this is a US post, drivers side means passebger side to us.

http://www.rs-productions.com/RSP_M...t/banjobolt.htm

Heres a link showing the bolts themselves. The one on the far right is the "double" drilled type Ken and I used to replace the "single" ( centre and left) drilled type as standard which are found on the drivers side.

The only thing i cant understand ( being someone who uses fluid mechanics for a living) i would need convincing that this actually increases pressure. In theory, increasing an orifice size will only improve fuel flow, not increase the pressure as pressure can only be increased at source, i.e. fuel pump. maybe the boost valve can help here but ( and i think its boyles law?) states that pressure will be equal in all areas and directions regardless of vessel size ( not correct wording) you can use an accumulator to balance pressure and boost it if it drops but only to the origional max pressure delivered by the pump.

Anyone???

Hope its ok.

You're right Marty.
Don't know where you got this idea of pressure from though...

According to ppl who have tested it it has increased fuel pressure but i think it just increases flow and removes any restrictions.

Kyle Is right it won't increase pressure,it will only help with flow as the pump will still only pump what it is rated at, use a FSE to increase pressure.

I may have to start a minor production line in the shed then Wolf, will see what I can do for you. Im going to attempt to produce a pattern this week for a one piece CAI in plastic (ABS) I think I have figured out a way to bend it without creases, therefore no fittings required. It will still be 3" NB but will be lighter than a metal one, doing it in black too to look good. If this works I can probably turn a few out. Just see hoe the trials go.

andy,

seeing as u have posted here, is this another thing u have already done, or should i be looking at it? also, as there is a boost valve fitted, if i have to do this one, will i need to play with the boost valve due to increased flow?

I did this last night, drilled the bolt out to 7mm, is this enough? Coz I have noticed no difference yet...

Off course we did it, no real point in putting the fse on without the increased flow of the banjo mod , you should have known better to ask this question .

Andy
PS

Ken OLD!!!!! m8 i really don't think you would notice any real diff in doing this to the car.

NP sir something we didn't mention to anyone was, that Chris did consider keeping the car and getting it turbo'd, but when we thoguht about it we decided that the insurance would prob kill us for modifying the car so much it wouldn't be worth it.
