Its back on the road!!!

Since i didnt make it to Jap Fest ive not really been in a huge rush to finish the 6 and did want to finish it yestarday but it was raining!!! Well I got up this morning and went out and finished it.

A few typicall teething problems like a heavy missfire which has now cleared.

The thing is im still not convinced she pulls aswell as she should. Both varis are working and there isnt anything obvious i just feel its holding back a little.

Dont get me wrong it is still pulling better than a UK car as i just embarressed the local 24v probe but i still feel she used to be quicker than that. Ahhh well. Im going out to give it a good clean and a polish.

Will have to set some time aside to lower her again before Trax!!!

Good News Kyle - Glad to see youve got a 6 back on the road.

Heres a wild sugestion - Let the poor thing finds its feet befor you thrash it to within an inch of its life !

Is this one DeCated ? FSE ? CAI ?

Cant think of any other reason it wouldnt pull aswell ......

Will get some pics posted next week. My camera is playing up!!!

As for mods... Yep all still modded. Fitted a new decat with a flexi join. Exhaust manifolds, induction kit and fse although ive just noticed the pressure was way down so ive played with that and it seems to pull a little better now.

As for thashing it well im not going past 7 for the time being.

Yep!!! Ive had it well past 8 but that could be why its engine 3 and a half!!!

In fairness ive driven it today exceptionally tame. Havent really been past 5500 rpm but i did have it round to 7 when i thought it was flat to see if it improved.

Ive got to do an oil change and flush now so thats this weeks job.

Great news Kyle.
Glad to hear she's back after all the trouble you went to for me.

I've still not taken mine anywhere near the red yet.
But with all that low down torque, I've found I really don't need to.

All being well I'm getting that seal done tomorrow - and the FSE fitted. What pressure have you got yours set at?

All the best,
Ken

Havent checked it today. I usually set it up using a carefull ear and some test runs then check the pressure. I guess its around 43-45psi at the min though which should be fine for the ze

Cheers Kyle,
I'm hoping it shouldn't be too bad though if the mech has:
1. a crowbar to get the shaft out
2. a big hammer to get it back in again...

Still p!$$ed off with Madza not being able to sell me a fresh driveshaft circlip though!
I think I'll remove the old one, squeeze to make it tighter, refit again.

Oportunity missed today - 'cos John (the mech) laid it on a bit thick last night and wasn't up to working...

So I used the time to sort out my vacuum tubes, fit the FSE and strip the old manifold of its useful bits like solenoids, vris chambers etc.
