I think one bar is 13.4 psi (or there abouts, not 100%).. so 26.8 psi would be two bars..

1 BAr of atmoshpere pressure is 14.7PSI
1 BAR =14.7 PSI
2 BAR =14.7X2 = 29.4 PSI
most people say 30psi or setup cars to run 30psi as it's a nice round number like 1 bar they run 15 psi

Just saw this on PT, an email reply to Probe2C (PT Admin) from Phillip at Austrack Motorsport.
Quote:
Hello, my name is Chris Caldwell and I'm an administrator at http://www.probetalk.com/forums. We're an online enthusiast group (~13,000 members) who dedicate ourselves to the Ford Probe/Mazda Mx6/626. We just recently saw (someone posted pictures) some details of your Commadore with a Mazda KL 2.5L Engine in it. We're very excited to see a company such as yours investing time and capital into work for our engines. Can you give any more details of the specifications about the car/engine? We noticed the adjustable cam gears, dry sump oiling, custom intake manifold, and obvious conversion to rear drive quickly. We were all excited with the list of upgraded internals (stock nitrided crank in place though). We always knew our engines were able to produce such numbers, however few have put the effort forth to produce them. Would you ever have any plans to produce engine kits/turbo kits for our cars (streetable kits)? We have some local members who may stop by your shop and poke around if you don't mind. I think I speak for many other members when I say we would just like to know as much about your setup as possible.

Thanks for your time;

Chris
And the Reply...
Chris, Thanks for the Email!

Sorry I took so long to get back to you. We can produce turbo kits for your cars, but it would become a custom fit due to the fact we used the engine in a rear wheel drive application. We cast our own intake manifolds and dry sump pans (cast alloy).

As for adjustable timing gears, we modified our own. If you would like any more info just let me know... all engine work is done in house by ourselves.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks,

Phillip

Well, they certainly didn't give him the cold shoulder! Did anyone local actually drop in and talk to these guys?

Caleb.

P.S. The thread at PT is here.

I thought the vault was only for threads from the lounge, as the lounge is the only forum that has posts removed after 180 days.
