Calgary Mid-Winter Auto Enthusiasts Meet (PHOTOS!)

Wow, it was a very good turn out for the Calgary Meet today considering the freezing cold, cold weather! A lot of MX6.com members as well as Beyond.ca peeps turned out. Can we say Porsche 996 Carrera 4 and Nissan Skyline?

Here's a few photos that I took (my fingers were frozen by the time we left for Brewsters).

Checking out JasonBH's MX-6 GT Turbo (Jason and Ryan (Ryo) made it out all the way from BC for the meet driving on racing tires. Apparently they had the car sliding sideways at 130 KPH on a couple of occasions!!!)

When I asked Ryan whether he thought riding with Jason was a life-threatening experience, he just shrugged it off saying it wasn't that bad at all! They said that there was no snow all the way here until they hit the Calgary area.

Noodles's Mazda 323 Turbo! (sorry, I didn't get the name of the driver)

Nope, it doesn't need a ZE in there.

323, Eagle Talon in background

The "European Guys'" Ford Probe GT (Again sorry, I didn't get your names)

BreakerJon's Mazda 626 Winter Beater (Jon's GF, Niels, BJ)

BreakerJon's 626, Penguin_Racecar's 626 Turbo

Penguin_Racecar's 626 Turbo

The Newfie-Blue Duct Tape-mobile!!! (Ricer Shawn "I'm gonna gitme a Prelude SH" admitted that even though the repair cost to the bumper would be around $120, he didn't want to part with his favorite duct tape repair job!)

Goblin's 323i in the background...

Whoa, am I seeing double here??? (Nope! That's mx6guy1304's blue RS on the left, and Newfie's on the right)

Louis has plans to turbo his RS in the future.

Louis' crotch and his engine bay. (Get the heck outta the way man!!! You're ruining the shot!)

Okay, that's much better. Crotch-free engine bay.

Thrasher's MX-6 GT Turbo

Sniff... sniff... my old car....waaaahhhh!!!! Graham's new acquisition to his Mazda Fleet. It's hitting 390,000 km's and starts like a charm still!

My Baby's got a new rear deck lid with a stock spoiler not to mention a vanity plate!!! Woo Hoo!!!

The Jumbo Snow tires don't look that bad actually. I was expecting worse.

mrozema's Black Beauty MX-6 LS (Glad to see that you made it out to the meet! Matt even brought his wife this time although she smartly decided to stay warm inside the car)

Jason, Niels, Graham, Matt, Hooded Dude, Hooded Dude #2 (Lee???)

Beyond.ca Forum BMW dude's brother's Pontiac Gran Prix GTP 240 Hp stock car (whoops, I forgot to take a photo of the BMW 328i). My 2000 626 is to the right there with the front mask.

Whoa Baby!! Here comes Inline6Turbo's Black and Pink Skyline GTS M Type S2ZR6-B1 (did I get that right? ) from the Beyond.ca forum!! She actually made it up the snowy ramp with no problems but needed a push after getting stuck when we left the upper lot.

I normally don't like side details too much, but the pink graphics actually are pretty cool and set the black car off nicely. Maybe it's just the fact that a Skyline showed up at our meet that I thought was very cool in itself. Thanks for coming to the meet, Rene! You're welcome any time to our meets!

Check out those rims!!! LOL more than one person including me was going "Who's driving that car??? There's no one in the driver's seat.... waiiiittt a minuuuuute...."

Freshly painted and waiting for a carbon fibre hood to arrive um sometime in 2008... from Japan.

"Okay, try not to get the drool over the new paint job, boys! I just had that washed!"

Okay, this Beyond.ca forum member rolls in with his Porsche Carrera 4 AWD, and the jaws really start dropping...

Hmmm, I wonder if he's interested in a straight swap for my 626 I4?

Check out those lo-pro tires! It makes you wonder how well that thing handles in this weather.

Thanks for bringing the 997 Carrera 4! You don't see those too often at Mazda Meets!

Sorry I didn't make it to the bowling alley! After driving to Best Western and asking for Matt (no I don't know the room number or his last name or the company LOL), getting caught going north on Macleod, circling around and visiting the traffic jam entering the Stampede grounds for the hockey game, heading back to Chinook, going down Blackfoot, seeing the Deerfoot 17 building, driving back down Blackfoot, cruising down Manhatten road, etc... I noticed my eyes were getting just a little bit tired.

Thanks to the people who made it out especially for this winter meet. Considering it was probably minus 12 today at 4 pm, we had a really good turn out. It was nice getting a chance to meet a few people and put faces behind the usernames.

Nice HHBL, great pics. Sorry for leaving after the Chinook bowling alley, I had mhy realitives coming in from Sask.

Where was the bowling alley? I went to the "cash casino" (Frank Sisson's right?) but there was no bowling alley there, I was told there was one on 42nd ave, okie dokey, off I went and still nothing.
Hopefully Matt (I4mx6) will still be around next week, I say we meet at brewsters again and go for bowling?

Hey let's see some more of the bowling photos! Looks like you guys had a good time there. I love ten pin!

Lessee... ride with a dude in a baby blue MX-6 RS or take a cruise with a gal in a hot black and pink Turbo Skyline... boy that's gotta be a tough decision!!!

EDIT: If anyone would prefer to have their photos removed or editted out for any reason, please feel free to let me know through PM! I've editted out most of the license plates except for the vanity ones, but give me a shout if you'd like me to change anything.

*A small charge may apply though for removing any unsightly blemishes and pimples.
