there's lots of guys running more done up and expensive cars than mine with even darker driver door windows.
I guess i'll roll my windows down as much as possible, and roll up the side facing the sun to shield me from the heat.

I hear ya.
While I was at the shop, a guy just had his mazda 6 done, tinted all around, but w/28%. Still.
and yeah, there are Lots of cars tinted on all.
.
I was considering doing the sides too, but I do have some short abrassions/scratches at the bottom corner (when closed) so not sure if tint will be a problem @ those areas. ?!?!?
.
I made an appt for sat.am.

the door glass is a very big piece of glass letting in a lot of UV rays.. if you drive or park somewhere so that the sun is shining on the side of your car, u're not keeping much heat out if you don't have the sides protected.

I've compared with the window open and closed while sitting around waiting for my gf. when it's open the sun light beating directly on my skin i can feel it really heating up. once i closed it the scorching feeling was gone.

Over all i think the cabin has been much cooler and i now use the AC much less frequently equating to fuel savings.
