nin nin, i only read the first page, and last two, so forgive me if this has been beaten to death :
your injectors : 280cc on a 6 cylinder engine = 280crank hp. those sort of numbers should be achievable with less than 7psi. i agree with gotf2tgd about that. which merc charger have you got? the smaller one doesnt flow much. i was looking at them a long time ago, and the only one that was capable of 15psi on a 2l fe3 was the one that comes on the amg. memory is fuzzy on that one though. fred. |

280cc is good up to 10psi on a sc or turbo
The supercharger i have is the m62 the m45 is the one that tops out lower around the 7 to 8psi it's pushing it's max i believe The charger is off a merc SLK 99 to 2003 i believe it was it's an eaton m62 supercharger The numbers im hoping for i have no idea im taking a shot in the dark cause there are only a few sc probes and only 1 dyno'ed really that had atleast a half decent tune You would have to search on probetalk to get a good idea on the numbers the m62 pushes out Im staying to the low end of the scale with my guess on the power output as it's an atx it's not know what kind of power it will make |

with regards the injector discussion, you can take a fair swing at how much power it will make based on the power it already makes * the extra air going in. 170hp stock * 1.5 for 7psi = 255hp. thats getting close to the max for those injectors. if you add in a bit of a boost in efficiency from the forced flow, you can expect more than 255 (crank hp) how much gets used by the supercharger to push that air, and how much gets wasted by the trans is irrelevant to fueling calcs. you still need to make the power you get out, and all that is wasted/used on the side.
on the higher end of the scale, you might even expect as much as 250 * 1.5 (2.5l engine with good ve to redline times boost ratio) = 375hp. the 280s wont support that at all. its not likely to be an issue for you anyway. more of a heads up. when you finally get it going, you can tune, and then just watch the duty and afr. if you see duty = 100% and afr starts leaning out, then you know you have a problem with injectors (or fuel pressure and supply). once again though, what it makes, and what you see at the wheels are not the same thing. you need fuel for what it makes, not what you see. hope i've made more sense now. fred. |
