Intercooler .

Im getting random Mandrel bends from Ebay for like $100 then get to work putting it together. With a fabricator you could do it easy as.

sick, If I were I'd get a m62 supercharger since ur gonna remove the AC anyway....lot less hassle compared to turbocharging with the small engine bay. Stuff the economy of crollaz with the m62 you can get a clutched version so itz boost on demand

Yer but im not really a fan of superchargers. Dont know much about them working with wise and power delivery etc ild prefer turbo boost. I have looked into both and was originally going to supercharge but Turbo just suits me so much better.

And i *Might* get rid of AC. Dont know yet.

There is a SC kit coming out that bolts directly inplace of the AC and all thats left is pipping under the car going to the intake could route it through the stock air box and it all be hidden

I saw a grey supercharged probe in my area a few days ago it was pretty good (sounds just like my apexi style bov with a simple pssssshhh compressed air sound) but it was just cruising slowly, sounded like an auto

Yer. How much? whos doing it? I hate you guys for getting me curious again and possibly changing my mind.... But if you can save me money for same result....

The money i had saved up for Fuel pump/AFPR/BOV got spent on some other things (stupid uni books and my birthday ending up costing me money somehow )

EDIT: Nar i doubt you will be able to convince me to Supercharge. Im allready so set on what im getting. And am about 2cm away from buying a Turbo (again)

Well pro's of the SC it's clutched so if u got pulled over u can turn it off and its all hidden it also lets you use it stealthly on the roads

You know u love the whine sound better than a turbo spool

Less pipping no intercooler needed

oh yeah it'll save you plenty of $$$ to go sc and less maintenance compared to turbo since u dont need engine oil + the reliability of Roots type sc with slightly cooler intake temps I think. It's still a wise choice for you since you have a ZE which don't need more than 5psi(more like 3) of boost to have fun (good for stock gearbox)

Thought id throw up the legalities and link to the EPA for Victorian people who might want to SC/Turbo

PDF: http://epanote2.epa.vic.gov.au/EPA/P...$FILE/1031.pdf

Ok here's the brief rundown

Intake systems

Dry element pod type air cleaners
are permitted (See *)

Oiled, oil-soaked or fluid-treated elements are not permitted.

Intercoolers larger than stock or different mounting location/added to car without intercooler stock are permitted (See *)

* You can have a pod filter or added intercooler but not both.

Engines

KLDE replaced with a KLDE is legal (same with other engines)
* KLDE replaced with KLZE is illegal (engine must be designed to meet the original engine’s emission standards.)

* Replacement of an original engine by any other engine may be acceptable if it can be shown by way of test or appropriate engineering reasoning that the emissions are equal to or less than could be expected from the original vehicle. So in otherwords it would have to be engineered possibly emission tested

Turbochargers/superchargers

Boost controllers

or other means of altering boost levels are not permitted

Unless part of an original manufacturer’s fitment then they are legal

‘Blow off’ (‘pop off’) valves

that are plumbed back are Legal

Atmospheric venting is not permitted. (Wshhh sound)

External wastegates are not permitted.

LPG conversion to Pass Emissions test cause it is a clean fuel is false and has to be tested under LPG emissions rules

Engine management systems

direct replacement of ecu or a ‘piggy-back’ systems are illegal unless it conforms to the appropriate ADR
ECU's that conform to ADR (Motec) must also be sealed or otherwise constructed so as not to be reprogrammable.

Exhaust manifolds

Headers are Legal if they incorporate all provisions found on the original E.g for the connection of emission control devices and systems (sensors)

Headers are legal if they dont interfere with the correct operation of any other emission control devices or systems

Exhaust systems

Exhaust is legal if modifying or replacing an exhaust system, make sure that the catalytic converter(s) and any sensors are positioned in the same xhaust flow location as with the original system.

Maximum noise levels for stationary vehicles are not to exceed
90 dB

Fuel systems

* Extra or larger fuel injectors are not permitted.

Variable fuel pressure regulators are not permitted

If fitted by the manufacturer as original equipment they are legal

* This is a problem with SC a DE legally and does make me wonder about it.
i'm lucky the Millenia S injectors fit into the fuel rail without any mods which should be overlooked as they look stock.
