I am getting some bits for the mexy off ebay.... But when I called the guy he said that he works for the biggest mazda parts place in Oz. OK he is in Melbourne but if you guys need parts or anything its worth giving him a call right? And he has a 2nd gen there.
His name is Noah and his number is 0401536991.
Hope this is of some use to someone!!!

I'm new to this forum stuff and to cars only having lic. for 6mths. So my dad is looking over my shoulder to help me out. I joined because I love MX6's especially the curvy model (1995).
My question is what are parts like to get and how hard is it to service them, as my dad will be helping me and he is into Jags and Mini's.
Ok!.. here goes.. had my P's for 6mths now and I'm fed up of using mum and dads cars. After looking and looking ... looking I saw an 1993 MX6 and fell in love with that shape and their sportness.
So what I'm trying to ask (and failing @ ) is can I aford to run and maintain one even if I do some of the work with my dad - (I do have a job it doesn't pay heaps but it ok!).
My budget would be about 5K max - less would be best. I'm after a manual 6cyl. Please tell me if I'm barking mad... (my dad's phrase ... not mine).
OK well I think (and I could be wrong) but I think 5K might be a bit of a low number for a 2nd gen. But if you get a bargain then go for it.
I get about 400 to 500km from a 40L tank of petrol if that helps. but I drive a bit like a granny (so everyone says) ie to the speed limit and not too silly.
parts are hard to get here, but ebay US and UK are good. If you can do your own work then thats 1/2 the battle. As alot of mechs dont know what a mx6 is - esp with the 4ws everyone gets confused,,,,
but go for it - I have had mine for about 2yrs or so and love her. Its most def a very different car to drive.

My mate picked up a nice 2nd gen for 3k with no rego, add rego insurance cost him 4k and it was in great shape for about 6 months before the Sydney hail storm.
Jessie, you can buy a pretty good example for under 5k.
For a start the petrol tank is 58 litres, and yes u should on average get about 500kms to a tank. Anyway, parts in australia arent too bad to find, but wreckers generally want a fortune for them. So decent cheap parts are in that respect hard to come by. If you have problems or need parts, post them on the forums here and generally someone is willing to lend a hand. Thats what I like about this forum, everyone is generally very helpful.
