im back from the dead! my screen completely blew, but im on a 19' BenQ now so its all good EXCEPT for something which nin or austerror might be able to help me with.

ive bought a digital DVI cable to connect to my card which has analog and dvi outputs...but the problem is, the prong pattern on my card is strange. the 2 ends of the cable and the monitor looks like Figure A, but the connector on the card looks like Figure B. (all the tiny prongs on the left are the same so dont worry if the number of them isnt correct lol)

now, the cable still slots in but is something amiss here?

It's the same DVI port the monitor just doesn't use all the pins it will plug straight in no problem.

I just found a few 2007 Pioneer head units on ebay, shouldn't be too long before they are in retail shops so I can have a look at what they are like. Despite what some people say about Pioneer, I like them...I had one which would have been a few years old at least in my TX5, and even on the stock speakers, you could get awesome sound. Most Pioneer decks these days have the same adjustments, so I would assume that they would develop similar sound quality to what I have experienced.

The only downside to them and most other head units at a reasonable price is that they all look like [shizzle] with bling chrome volume knobs and buttons, extreme LED colours and they have pointless crap....such as dolphins that dance to the beat of the music up on the LCD screen.

I have seen a few head units about that have that factory/OEM look, but you pay an arm and a leg for them usually .

Edit: Fitzy, I know you love your Alpine, you don't need to tell me that they "own" or that they are FTW.

I just figured that 2006 models might come down in price, or reduced to clear to make way for the 2007 models

Good diagram ...

Looks like you got the wrong adapter .. you shoudl be bale to get one so the monitor can be plugged in ..
If it works, id just leave it .. but if your really worried..

I had the same problem with the 2nd output on my graphics card .. i got a adapter, unfortunately i dont know the name of it .. will try and find out for ya. It shouldnt be too expensive ..

As for the new Evo .. it looks like a bag of mix alsorts ..

That evo has a front intake that is looking very much like the new Audi's.

The DVI cable for the LCD screen will be missing the 4 pins because the 4 pins were only there for an analog signal.

So if you had a CRT you could get a cable that would use those 4 pins and still work on your CRT.

91turbo666 : Is the new LCD awesome!?
