i thought all waxes are for protecting while polishes are for shininess?

im looking to protect the paint more than anything, would it work if i did a layer of the platinum then a layer of the hard shell? as a protector over the top?
uhhh......

they seem fkn simmilar. and you're right, a wax just makes an ultrafine concrete-hard layer on top of the paint... it is there to protect it. id guess the first one is a mixed/odd wax, with a fair bit of caranuaba and other [shizzle] in it for shine.... whereas the hard shell would be a full synthetic, its there to protect for as long as possible, nothing else.
you can layer waxes. i layer P21S so it lasts longer, and shines better... so i reckon you might be able to layer the two different ones (leave a gap of a good 12hrs inbetween the two though).

oh, and waxes def add shine.

tell us how it goes after the 'hard shell' what you're after is nice round, tall, drops of water.

i waxed the bonnet yesterday and then gave up cos its too damn [fizzle]ing hot in the garage with a tin roof lol

i think the roof, bonnet and trunk are the main areas though as the sun shines down on these areas the most?

I need to wax my car as well ... and get rid of the stone chips on the bonnet

I think I'll do it this week sometime.
