Chickebabe, I reckon you should keep it.

Buying and Selling cars is a waste. I say buy one ... drive it until the wheels fall off and buy another one.

I look after my car well - I've just been out of the "I want to get rid of my car" stage, but I keep forgetting that I wouldn't be happy with a car in the 30-40k range ... let alone another 2nd hand car!

You will always lose money with cars ... maintaining the one you have will see you lose less, however once it becomes an extreme burden (costing you $1.5k+ per service over a long period of time) ... I'd say to get rid of it.

But that aside, we all knew our cars weren't the Toyota Corollas of the world ... so we are to expect they putt putt and conk out from time to time ... at least we're doing better than BMW drivers

Yeah i agree with what your saying there... problem is I have spend thousands on this car.... and its not going at the moment.. therefore I will need to spend more on it pretty soon.... ad so with insurance and rego, and then noraml keeping costs its alright.. but when its costing money to constantly keep the car going it makes me wonder!!!

But.... deep down i love the car... just wish it would keep going....

Procrastinate now, don't put it off

I think you just need a boyfriend who knows a bit about cars

Or ... if you move up to Melbourne, some of us could show you where to get cheaper parts & stuff ... some of us could even help you out with a few things ... most of us up here would be most glad to help a lass in distress ... especially if she drives a Mazda

My car is serving me well and hasnt let me down for some time now. Still on its original O2's at 145,200kms. I want something faster though, got chopped by a Hyundai S-Coupe (turbo mind you) at the lights the other day, it was embarrassing! Saw a black JZA70 Supra with a 1JZ motor in it, 300rwhp for $14k, tempting

Sounds like he's asking, Chickebabe!

It's a pity the community isn't larger in Tassie though. At least here you'd get plenty of guys off the board to help you out straighten your car out. These guys have already offered! Maybe you should save the cash you'd otherwise spend at a mechanics' and spend a few weeks in Victoria? Your car will love you forever....

My MX6 experience is more a rolling restoration than everyday transport...

so far in the last 2 months ive spent over $2k getting the car going properly. not on mods or anything but just fixing things. as much as i like the car, i want something that wont cost so much to keep going.
and if Da Rush evers sells his 2nd gen, im there cos that car is sweet.

Then God spoke to me and said:
