thats what i was thinking of doing as well. have some kind of a slide out mechanism for the entire unit so the tape deck faceplate fits flush and looks factory.

as for the carpc, ill do it eventually but the advantage of this deck is i can use it as a normal deck until i get my arse in gear and make and install the carpc

Well a quick update some good news but still not promising
Found a supplier in America i believe that does the front bar in Urethane ..

- SO i have emailed them to find out the "damage/cost" to get it here
- Sadly, i have done some research on the manufacturer and have seen/read some BAD stories, bad fitment etc. / damaged in transport
- I have now spoken to a guy/member of another forum who deals with supplier, hopefully i get reply from him

Do i or dont i ?!?!

As for today, its been average, and no real major drama's
Hows everyone

I mean, it's not as if you are going to consult the map/UBD as you approach a red light and make a decision weather to go thought the red or not.
Well it might not make much sense on a actual map but on my GPS it just warns me and tells me how many meters till i get to the camera it's handy cause i know before i get up to the lights

Yeah thats a good idea mine unlike most of the newer VGA screens doesn't have a faceplate with a lil clock so i decided to use alil velcro for the tapedeck faceplate and all i have to do is push the faceplate in to make the unit popout

It would be a waste to let shuch a hidef screen only be used for AV inputs but a carpc isn't for everyone and i can tell u it will be useless to you with your top open the screen is washed out and unreadable really in sunlight thats the downside cause the touchscreen overlay difusses the light and when in sunlight it just makes the whole screen unreadable not that it would be that much more readable without the touchscreen

Going to wash the car this evening when I get home...

Only washed it 2 weeks ago.

Australian conditions are not car friendly. I am going to find a country with decent roads, water (including rain) which is pure with little or no salinity levels, and decent air quality. Maybe then, the car might stay cleaner for a tad longer.

Germany then Davey boy

And Benny trust me it will be horrible i got the Xenarc screen but paid extra to get a higher illumination than what your model would have and on really hot and sunny days even it gets hard to see for me and i'm inside with a top on (altho now i have tint i dont know if it will be better it seems the windshield id the major cause for light washing the screen

EDIT: Actually check it out and post here maybe they have found a good way to combat the sunlight in the newer models

I was feeling very depressed last night so I called Lifeline.
I was put through to a call centre in Pakistan.
I told them I was feeling suicidal and they got all excited and asked me if I could fly a plane.

That VDO unit is what I'm talkiing about.

I'll have to visit my Audio guy and see what he can do.

I don't mind portable especially if you travel. It's just that I don't want a cluttered car any more. I just reinstalled a amp and woofer in the mx-6 and I sort of want it gone but it does sound alot better. but I can't justify it as I'm looking towrd the mx-6 as more semitrack -weekend car and less of a daily use or basicly any use bar weekend.

this unit would be for daily driver so that I can - watch sport or anything during launch breaks - navigate if needed and beable to turni t all off and it looks like everything is missing.

Rodhog you need to do what i've done create a system that can be taken out for track days in under a min or so

My false floor comes out quite easily i just unhook the wires to the amp and then everything slides out easily

That would be a system you should use in your car

We had a $5.5K bar tab last night... I didn't get home until 5:20 this morning, and I'm still slightly drunk. Holy hell last night was HUGE......... 5 hours until the drinking starts again. Time for a recovery nap.

Have a great Saturday night all,
