Americans ... need we say more?

I've never used an internet cafe ... sounds as if I've been spoilt, I always have a notebook and a mobile phone on me when I go travelling

Kind of ironic, but I've never been overseas for fun ... always had something to attend, or people to see, or work to do ... that sorta thing ... which sort of sucks, because I don't get to do much sightseeing like a tourist ... which I hate doing anyway.

I'm dying to go to Denmark.

I'd love to stay somewhere like Hvide Sande (a little fishing village) ... or out in the country ...

... but if I go over there, I doubt I'd be back in Australia soon.

*sits and ponders over his thoughts*

Ach, I can't be bothered yet ... there's no need for me to have a break off work and study ... I can't really afford it right now either (considering my recent ATO payments)

I would like to go lotsa places.... theres not many places i wouldnt consider visiting.. problem is the travel bugs hits in and there is no stopping me. I would like to go to somewhere like Norway where they have like 24 hours of day light for 3 months of the year or something... I think tha twould be a really interesting experience... Doubt i would like it much during the months of 24 hours of darkness... yeah lotsa places i would love to go.. and totally agree about so called going of the tourist spots and heading for the real thing. I've travelled to Thailand and did a bit of that kinda of thing and its an amazing thing to hold say $5AUD worth of Thailand baht in front of someone who has never seen that much money before in their life.

Well that was probably boring.. :P but oh well...

suckysucky 5 dollar....

I love Switzerland, probably my favourite country in Europe. I totally agree about the tourist bus thing MrMX6. We had friends that were in Europe the same time we were, they were on a tour, we hired a car and did our own thing. We camped everywhere we went and in 4 weeks only had 2 hours of rain, very fortunate. They bitched and moaned about their itinery. Driving around is the only way to see stuff outside the main tourist traps.
We're heading back overseas as soon as we sell our house, maybe stay for a couple of years. Base ourselves in England (my birth place) work a bit, travel a bit. I haven't seen the family for about 3 years so it would be good to catch up.

I was in the USA for 6 months. 5 Months of working in a ski resort and 1 month of back packing around the country sleeping on trains and that kinda thing.. it was fantastic.. so i would want to do that sort of thing in Europe... really get to know the lifestyle of the people and stuff like that more.... just gotta get the money.. arrange the study around it and im off.

I wish I could be as carefree.

But you're right ... you do have to have a hire car when you go to europe ... either that or rely on the TCVs (trains) ... Next time I go over I'm buying a car though - considering I'm going to be over there long enough :P

Hate to break it to you, but the German's aren't any better.

I do like the fact that when you speed (like ... I was regularly going an insane amount over the speed limit in dusseldorf) ... you get a 50DM fine and they wave you away. I got away with it though, cos I made out to be some stupid tourist

I learnt you DO need a good car to handle the cobblestones ... our jap crap wouldn't take some of the roads over there

Anyhow ... if you get dents in your rental, it's all good ... it's not your car, it doesn't matter! ... that much

true but at least most of the roads in germany are of the size were two cars can drive past one another without one driving in the ditch.

ur right about the cobblestones too. i was in my cousins car and in front of us was this old PoS that wa bouncing along nicely on the stones when there was a loud THUNK and half the exhuast came flying backwards. just missed us and my cousin nearly changed the colour of the seat, THEN lent out the window and gave the guy the bird it was rather funny and we joked about it afterwards.

I should ask my uncle if I could borrow on of his cars next time I go over ... I really felt like a ****wit driving a passat at 180 (which was all it could do) on the autobahn, it was sooo slow!
