Very true. My TX5 was brought off a chick in her early 20's, despite looking beautiful inside and out (I'm talking about the car here), mechanically, It was not so fantastic due to a lack of and/or poor servicing.

i dissagree, most 626's i looked at were owned by older people who didnt have a [fizzle]ing clue and hence they were [shizzle], my car was owned by a guy who was like 25 and its mint, minus the sunfaded side strips, but every green car like mine has the same, so its not a biggy, and mechanically there wasnt a hiccup, other than the usual slight leak from the rockers (which is a rather large leak now, but that should be gone in the weeks coming, no more uni + money = maintinace time )

Klze, its got a few things done to it

thats because you were looking at 626's... they are a family car, a bit of a beater and not really thought about.
people who buy sports cars buy them with the comprimises because they like the car... so they will be (usually) cared for.
my mx6's was insanley well kept, and my mr2 belonged to an older lady in a nicer suburb... thankfully she just kept forking out for serivces at toyota dealers... [fizzle] they're pricey!

if theres one thing we could agree on its to certainly never buy a car off a young guy

i remember back in college many of the guys bought souped up cars from other younger guys and i swear all of them burnt equal parts petrol and oil the engines sounded so worn out, not to mention the black smoke

I tend to agree ... apart from the fact that it's a four door sedan ... it's just a kingswood which is being held together by rust and used VB cans.

Russ, you'll be dreaming if you think you'll make money on that POS Holden that's being held together by a VB can and some twine!

making money is not the idea. 4dr's will never be worth all that much as they can be easily mocked up with repro GTS gear. its just a nice cruiser and a project.

and theres no [fizzle]ing twine. just masking tape, silicone, and nails.

no [fizzle]ing commitment. so you sent it off to the recyclers, or did someone give it a new home?
