2016 Mazda MX-5 to Debut Sept 3rd at Laguna Seca
Jul 03, 2014 - 7:27 AM - by AutoGuide.com

Quote:
Mazda will officially introduce the next-generation of its popular MX-5 roadster on September 3rd at one of the world’s most famous racetracks: Laguna Seca.

Officially known as Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the unveiling will come during an annual Miata enthusiast event known as Miatas at Mazda Raceway.

WHAT WE KNOW: 2016 Mazda MX-5

“We’re excited to make this official, to announce that the newest member of the MX-5 Miata family will be arriving soon,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO). “Along with our colleagues around the world, we continue to celebrate the MX-5′s 25th anniversary and look forward to sharing even more news in the near future.”

Mazda will in fact host several simultaneous global reveals of the car, with debuts also occurring in Japan and Spain.

In March, Mazda revealed the car’s new Skyactiv chassis at the New York Auto Show, announcing that the 2016 MX-5 will be both smaller and lighter than the current model. The car will weigh at least 220 lbs less than the current car.

Should I Buy a Used Mazda Miata?
Jun 19, 2014 - 8:41 PM - by AutoGuide.com

Quote:
In 1990 Mazda introduced a back-to-basics sports car. Utilizing the same philosophy as British roadsters did in the 1950s and 1960s; the MX-5 Miata was a lightweight, front engine roadster that offered moderate power, a well-balanced chassis and top down motoring fun.

The big difference between the MX-5 and English roadsters of old was reliability. Mazda finally made a budget sports car that could be driven day-in and day-out without issue.

Initially available with a 1.6-liter engine, the MX-5 Miata received a mid-cycle refresh in 1994 and the addition of more power thanks to a larger 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. Through the entire run of the first generation Miata, pop-up headlights and a manually retracting roof were featured.

Watch a Sinkhole in Baltimore Swallow an Entire Row of Cars. It Gets Scary at 1:14 !
May 05, 2014 - 11:46 AM - by AutoGuide.com
We're not going to lie, this one starts a little slow, but by the end you'll have shivers running down your spine.

What you see in the video from the onset is only the very start of this sinkhole that eventually grows to swallow an entire line of cars, and a whole lot of additional real estate in residential Baltimore.

It's also a serious lesson in just how dangerous sinkholes can be. Keep watching the build-up until around 1:14 and the rest just becomes terrifying.

WATCH & WEEP... Can you imagine if this was your car?
