I'll see if i can use the stock rx7 gauges.

I just went out and bought a digital caliper and measured my cams. it looks like the stock cam and carb cam have the same amount of lift but the carb cam has more duration.

Can't wait to see the power difference.

what flywheel clutch combo can I use if I'm using the b2200 bell-housing? is the clutch for the 1st gen non-turbo the same as the clutch for the b2200?
in that case I can use the n/a fidanza flywheel and clutch.

Great to see a real cam going into one of these motors.

And don't listen to guys saying overlap is the devil (in bad cajun accent) on turbo cars.
How many N/A cars have been converted to turbo with a stock N/A cam, literally thousands!
So using a stock N/A cam from a 2L shouldn't hurt at all.

It will be very interesting to see how it performs.

I know this is about the 1g, but don't 2g ZE cams have a slight overlap? They boosted just fine for me.

Yes thats my point, most N/A cams have some overlap and boost just fine.

the manufacturers probably only shorten the overlap for emissions and driveability reasons.

They'd be the first people to use the same part rather than make two different ones if they thought that might save $0.50

The interprep 270s are measured to have 18 degrees of overlap, and those are SIGNIFICANTLY more aggressive (both lift and duration) than even the ZE cams, so the overlap on the ZE cams must be minimal at best, thus they boost so well. This is also the reason that Geoff at Colt will tell you not to get straight 218's and boost them, to stick with something a little more mild with LESS overlap.

I sent them both into a transmission shop and just told them to use the b2200 bell on the rx7 non-turbo tranny. They bolted right up and work. The thing I'm worried about is that there isn't much of a spline coming out of the tranny, not sure if it will mesh. I will prob find out soon though when I get my much needed fidanza and 6 puck clutch from the non-turbo mx6/b2200
