Looking into a KF swap for my MX-3, and I notice both KF-ZE and KF-DE's on eBay. Then, there are the IM's, straight neck or curved. Well, being an MX-3, I would prefer the curved neck (but not important as I CAN just use my K8 curved neck IM).
Anyway, I have poked around, and never seen any distinctions with ZE vs DE for KF's. Is there any possible difference, assuming both are really JDM (I didn't think ANY KF's came to the US, but thought "DE" indicated for US)?
To head off KL gripes; I don't really want to have to change my exhaust or ECM to make use of a 2.5L V6, and thought a 2.0L would match up OK.
I still haven't even ruled out a K8-ZE either; not completely.
I suspect a KF "DE" might have lower compression than a 10.0-1 ZE, which would be fine by me if so, as I don't really want to be pumping Premium fuel.
