For those of you that have been following, this has been the biggest ordeal since the purchase of this car. It has been over 1.5 years since I purchased the kit in extremely rough shape and here today, its completed and installed.
Words can't describe it, but if I were to try, "stunning" would be my word of choice.
Hope you like...
Here's some before shots, just to give you an idea...
And here's the new look...
Now I'm still in the process of polishing it for the show this weekend. So far only the fenders and hood are done. But based on the pictures, most of you would never know unless I told you.
Thanks guys for the support pushing me to get this done. I'm happy its finished...appearance wise anyways })
I know, its not the camera, its just the weather outside is gloomy. I'll update with more pictures this weekend when its at the show. These pictures like I said aren't even of the car done yet...lots of polishing left to do.
my mouth just fucking dropped... i readevery fucking word too... and i was like a little girl on her first crush...... i squealed.... omg......... beautiful.... i cant get over it........
can i see some side shots...it looks great from the front...i'm still on the fence about the rear bumper w/no skirt or oem mud gaurds to help the transition....KARMA on the work though
I'll get some for you guys when its outside. Right now its in the garage and like I said I still have lots of polishing to do. You'll get them, no worries.
Actually, the back needs nothing. The point of the kit is not to make it look lower, but to make it look more "powerful" which it does. It flows forward not down and makes the car look sharper at the front then it was before. Adding a rear lip does finish it per say, but then the car is just lower to the ground and the attention point of the front and sides of the car is lost to a rear that wasn't made for it anyways. My attention pieces are what I have and I'd like them to remain the exterior focus. Trust me, I've thought about it, but I definitely wont be doing a rear anything.
Well actually I'm doing some ZE bits next year. With recent help from blaster3500 on here, I know now what I'm looking for which includes manifold and throttle body. The throttle body I am having bored out to about 65mm though to match the ZE intake size. Oh, and a little powder coating.
As for the whole engine, well I want to but I want to get something I know will last. The whole valve issue worries me, so I'm actually looking at a 3.0L SHO engine and transmission. Going to do some measuring this winter, but a friend of mine does custom motor swaps all the time, so this would be nothing for him to do. That and the motors are relatively cheap and extremely bullet proof.
Thanks again for all the comments guys. Sorry it took so long to get back, but I've just been sitting in the garage all day staring at it! Hahah.
the sho motor is a GREAT engine. however it requires lots of ON SCHEDULE and expensive mainten. like valve shims. i've had three sho's and would love another. also, the tranny...its mazda sourced...need i say more???
i honstly haven't been all giddy going into a thread in a long time, i honestly was grinning ear to ear and telling cindy how excited i was. She looked at me like i'm a weirdo. Looks amazing bro, and has been a long time coming. Seriously bro, i feel like i went through it too, but for free, and with no payoff...
