Well...as a test, cut one in half and toss it in water...see if the sodium ignites

That would be especially impressive, given that there isn't any sodium in those valves...

someone's lying then...according to Mazda, the GT valves are sodium filled. When sodium is exposed to water, it's quite the pyrotechnics show.

The intake valves are the same as non-turbo.

The GT exhaust valves have been cut and photographed a couple times.
Hopefully the pictures aren't gone.. if you search the 1g forums, it is *in* there.

The GT exhaust valves *are* heat treated... harder than the N/A to cut, but no sodium, or other fun metals inside.

Alas.

That looks like a decent pick up. It needs a little love but could be great. BTW, I doubt he was keeping up with an m5...

Yep, i know that guy. Bought a couple of things from him. Really decent car, actually, and the guy was cool too. I saw him start the car and it worked really well, there's actually a sale thread on probesnw.com about the car, he claims he kept up with M5 until 140mph, and i would believe him. So yea, i'd be on it if i had space (3 cars is a bit too many for a 23yr old) Good luck to the buyer.
