OEM Mazda wheels that fit the 2G Mx6 w/ pictures

I pulled photos from many places and often without permission. If anyone has objections to the pictures I used please let me know.

Stock 2G Mx6 wheels have a 5x114 bolt pattern with an offset of 42 and a hub diameter of 67.1mm.

Note: MANY OF THESE WHEELS WILL REQUIRE SPACERS TO FIT PERFECTLY
Eventually, I will gather the information about spacer sizes and add it to this sticky. If anyone knows anything I don't please PM me.

I planned to put some Ansen Sprint Wheels on my mx-6.

As they write on the American Racing website, usually front wheel drive cars have rims with a 35mm offset.

I see that 7" wide rims will fit perfectly but what about the offset of the rims you showed?

Anybody running the 06 mazda3 rims without spacers on stock height? I don't have the money for spacers atm. Do they rub?

Here's some pictures of my bbs rims, I need to find a place that can bore out my center hub as the hub is too small from the rx7 size to the 2nd gen mx6s. If anyone knows how I can fit them without boring out the center hubs I would greatly appreciate the info. Sorry the pictures might be a bit blurry because my camera phone sucked back than but it will give you an idea. I hope the pictures work.

Clearance issues with 17X7's

I just picked up a set of 17X7's and they're hitting the lower spring cup of my struts. The struts are shot, and need to be replaced, but does anyone know if there's a strut with a 1" difference in lower spring cup height? I'm tall, and a 1" lift would give me the clearance and make getting in and out easier. If not, will the stock struts clear these wheels with 215/50/17's?

I had the stock 15's in there, but I cracked a rim on a curb (thank you to the teen driver who caused the accident and promptly left the scene). I picked up the rims and skins on Craixx list.
My rims are the 7th picture down. I tried to put in the link, but it put a hold on the post. I called tech support at KYB to see it they had a recommendation. Of course, they did not.
I was also considering going with an air ride system, but it's not something I've done before, and I can't find anyone who is using it to RAISE, not lower their car.

215/50/17 is too big a tire for the mx-6 if you're comparing to the stock size of 205/55/15. It's almost an inch bigger in radius, so that would put it almost an inch closer to the lower spring perch and cause the rubbing issues you have. A size of 215/40/17 is almost an exact match to the radius of the stock tire, and if the offset of the stock vs new rim is the same, then it shouldn't have any issue at all. I used to run that size on my rims, but 215/45/17 gave me a more comfortable ride because of the taller sidewall and made the wheel look a bit bigger as well and filled the wheel well more while still not rubbing anywhere. My rims have an offset of +40mm or so, if yours are +40 or less, then the 215/45/17 size should be fine. You can usually see the offset stamped into the rim somewhere.

I forgot to mention that my rim is also a 17x7 with the +40mm offset.

If the roads are brutal, the 45 profile will give you a thicker sidewall...the 40 profile will be a more harsh ride.

Don't get new rubber until you check the offset of that rim. If it's +40mm or less, you'll be okay with the 45 profile tire.

Oh crap, I just did a quick search, and it says the Mazda 6 wheel you're using is a 60mm offset: 2004 Mazda 6 Rims, 2004 Mazda 6 Wheels at OriginalWheels.com

You're going to need a 20mm+ spacer and new wheel studs to make the offset +40mm or less. Even if you can fit the wheel on there with skinnier tires, it going to look dumb because the wheels won't even be close to flush with the body, they'll be too sunk in.

I would get longer wheel studs and spacers to make this work, or sell them and get something with a lower offset.

this thread is awesome! Tire calculator told me everything I wanted to know about swapping to rx8 rims.... now I just need to grab the cash and hope they're still available!

it looks like i have to run spacers for the rx8 18 X 8 rims to fit..... the 1.3" suck in is what I'm questioning. I'm looking to run the 235/35/18 from 195/65/14
