What would a 1988 MX6 GT be worth with a bad head gasket, some rust and a cracked windshield?

I think $500 is a fair offer but whats your views?

Lol I know someone would say that.

The car is solid, the only rust is the back wheel wells and on the trunk were the wing attaches.

I hope to get the car since I have a Tbird IHI and T3 sitting on my self and I need a fun DD for summer:jump:

if theres rust in the back wheel wells theres probably rust in the strut towers aswell, and voila its not that solid.. hope you checked that :)

$150-500, depending on condition otherwise. a F2 engine isnt especially hard to come buy either, and these cars are nice daily drivers.

I paid $370 for an LX with no rust, non-running and a wrecked windshield.

I also paid $500 for a DX, rusted out floor, beer-bottle-modded-windshield, running like a top.

I paid 675.00 for my 88GT 2 years ago, and it still runs like a champ, except I can't keep a turbo in it for very long!!

depends on if theres anything dangerous, if its mostly just cosmetic shit and you know how to deal with the rest I wouldnt think twice, these are great old cars...

With more than 200k and enough rust to make you worry, plus a blown headgasket, $600 is a lot to ask. I would keep looking and hope he either goes down in price, or that you can find something better.

I can get the HG changed in 20 minutes and my current 2.2 has 270k km's and it's never been opened up with a stock ATX...

I'll go take a look at it tomorrow and see how bad the car really is

Do that :)

I paid $5k for mine, then got $1738 back because of the previous owner lying about mileage and engine problems, then spent about $13k since then, with $2.5k in insurance and road tax.
The new engine + install ran me almost $2k, and I've also done so rust repair work at a workshop (another $1k), and installed an alarm, bought new tires, oil, lots of other misc parts.
The latest bill was $1500 on new stock springs, overhauled rear brakes, front light adjustment, fixing a wheel bearing, inspection, new head cover gasket, etc..

However, im stupid, I love that car even if its been a money sink, and its finally in near perfect condition, only got a few "small" things to worry about, like two rusty doors, some rust by the windshield, a small patch of rust underneath... and finding a set of nice 15" or 16" for the summer, no way im running 18"s again.

Kinda puts things in perspective eh?
