My fuel return blocked up and the fuel filter bursted and went everywhere and shorted out on the ignition module and set on fire lucky we've got a fire extinguisher in the house but the module got burnt and the plastic cover for the relays everything else looks untouched though,so I was wondering if the ECU from 1988 are different to the 1990 because there's a different part number but then it says the module is interchangeable with the Mitsubishi jf011 and I remember seeing it had Mitsubishi written on it when changing the filter, only because there's like a 300$ difference between the Mazda and Mitsubishi part and the Mitzi being cheaper.

Your question and thread tittle are unclear. So I will answer you question and thread tittle.

The 1988/1989 F2T (A spec) ECU (computer) is different than the 1990/1991/1992 F2T (B spec) ECU and the two are not interchangeable nor are A and B spec performance chips.

The Igniter modules are also different the Aspec has a rectangular plug like the Air Flow Meter uses and the Bspec has a Oval (round edged) plug. (Google the underlined parts to search for them).
The Aspec 88-89 Mitsubishi igniter J118
The Bspec 90-92 Mitsubishi igniter J120

You haven't mentioned what year your F2T is.

My cars 1990 model but has the j118 style module in it that's why I was wondering maybe mine was the last of them before they went to the later oval shaped ignition module.

Does your distributor harness plug have 4 or 6 wires?
Are the injector harness plugs black with a metal clip or grey with a plastic release.
