Hi,

Can someone point me in the correct direction concerning a splutter/misfire at low to medium revs on my Mazda MX6 V6 2.5 GT.

I was told it might be the camshaft belt has jumped one tooth, however if I link out the TEN GND in the diagnostic box, then the car runs 80% better only misfires intermittently.

Surely if the cam belt had jumped, then the engine would run rough even with the link.

I purchased but not yet fitted the following:

Second hand (used)

ECU
Distributor body,cap & leads
TPS
Complete Wire harness from disty to ECU.

Regards

Hi,

I was told by my local Mazda garage that it could be a faulty wire harness, and may have damaged the ECU.
So I purchased the wire hareness & ECU (just incase)

- Start with the dist, cap, rotor.
- Check your spark plugs, what colour are they? are the gapped right
Agreed , check / replace plug wires as well . It also could be a failing coil ( internal on yours I believe ) but try the tune up first. Check for vacuum leaks as well , especially the main intake elbow.
