I recently bought a 1993 Mazda mx6 with the FS-DE motor. On the drive home, I noticed that every time I pushed in the clutch and the rpms fell, they just kept falling until they reached 0 and the car shut off. I discovered that if I push in the clutch, take it out of gear, and pump the throttle a couple of times, then let it fall, it doesn't die. Also, it idles relatively low. (Around 600-700 rpms) Anyone else had this problem? What could it be?

Sounds like it could use an idle adjustment. Pull ECU codes and see what comes up. While car in diagnostics mode and adjust the idle using the set screw. There is a write-up for idle adjustment that I won't re-write here - Idle should sit at 750 or so.

Also check for vacuum leaks which is a major source of idle issues.

Use google to search since the forum search is .... not great

Using sytax site:mx6.com idle adjustment will give you results from this forum only. You can also try probetalk.com
