1989 MX-6
I want new front speakers. I blew the original speakers shortly after I bought the car 4 years ago.
According to crutchfield nothing fits. However if I change my car to 626 I see a few 4" speakers that will fit. Anyone see a problem just using the 626 list?
I am looking at the Hertz DCX 100.3. Hopefully that will be a good fit. Right now I have a pioneer DEH-80PRS head unit with polk mm 6.5 in the rear.
With the front speakers installed I would like to hook the factory under passenger seat woofer back up. I vaguely recall a write up somewhere (that I cant find now), that I can tap into a wire. I believe it said Blue with yellow. I think it said using one of the front + speaker wires. Anyone recall how to do this.

I would eventually want to put the original stereo back in. And get one of the new bluetooth amplifiers ( with line level inputs ). The Pioneer is great, but I have to pull up YouTube everytime I want to make and adjustment or preset a station.

I found the wiring diagram in the workshop manual. So mazda calls it a 3D woofer. I can see from the diagram that it's tapped into the front speakers. From what I can see the L/Y wire goes to the original head unit. Aftermarket stereos don't have this lead. The L/Y wire is the blue wire with a yellow stripe.
The wire goes to the woofer and I see a squiggly line ( don't know what that means ), and then some other lines, that I believe mean ground.
So my only guess would be to tap to a negative from speaker wire. Not sure, so if anyone has any feedback.

Edit again. It took some searching but I finally found it. It is the blue wire with yellow. And you just hook it up to the yellow remote wire from aftermarket head unit.

I guess this whole thread can be deleted.
