1genB + digital cluster = no cruise control?

So I swapped in the digital cluster and everything works, except for the cruise control. Now, I know for the 1genA, the cruise main indicator was in the switch whereas for 1genB there's a light in the instrument cluster. Does this indicator need to be functioning for the cruise control to work? There was the one wire that didn't match up in colour during the splice job, and I'm wondering if that's the one for the cruise main light? Also wondering if I get the switch from the car that gave up its cluster if I'll have cruise back?
