I just helped my friend put on some new headers on his civic, now he has a good set of headers, stock cat, and nice catback, also a aem cai.

My DX has stockity stock stock everything except for K&N panel filter. and metal master brake pads.

So its like 3:30 am and the road is empty and there are some large roads near wher we live. We race, repetetively from pacing and a few launches. when racing from pacing it has neck to neck most of the time except when i shifted real well and pulled on him, he would pull on me when his vtec kicked in then i would have to shiftup about the same time to catch up. I think my power band is from 3200-about 5200.

But i won on every launch, i would rev to like 2700 and drop it in trying not to lose any traction and then shift right after 5k rpm.

Should i be doing better against him? Im pretty happy where im at though.

sounds about right

The reason why you had him on take off is cause the Mx6 has torque and the Civic doesnt. The F2 engines have horrible head flow and doesnt like high reving. So it runs out of breath pretty fast. Thats why he keeps up or slowly passes you in the higher rpms. Plus thats when he makes the power. The F2 is all down low power
