Should a 89 GT be able to beat a 94PGT? I beat my buddy the other night, and I was just wondering if he was trying to make me feel good.... since his car is nice and mine is a POS with 364000 kms on it.... but still he says that I beat him.. but I'm just not sure.

Out of the box, with equal drivers, an MTX 1st-gen turbo and an MTX 2nd-gen V6 are pretty equal in terms of straight-line performance, with a nominal edge, if any, going to the 1G car.

When one car trounces another or even beats it handily, the losing car likely was saddled with a less than stellar driver or has other issues (e.g. bad plug wires etc) or the winner has mods the loser didn't know about.
