Hey,

Does anyone know if you can put a '94-'95 header-back exhaust on a '96 mx-6?

I mean if you replaced the Y-pipe w/flex, cat and cat-back on a 1996 MX-6 using "'94-'95" spec parts. Where do the lengts of the components differ?

Are there any complications?

i also have a '96. someone told me that you will need a custom extension pipe added between the header downpipe and the catalytic converter. i am putting my new headers on soon, so i am sure i will have a shop put on an extension to reach my testpipe securely.

What's to stop you from putting a '94-'95 header, cat and catback on a 1996?

The reason I say is because there is more stuff for a '94-'95 and the '96 I have has a seriously rusted Y-pipe, cat and muffler. I just replaced the mid-pipe yesterday and damn if it’s not about 1" shorter that stock. This is causing the muffler to pull up and back in the car and seems to be putting more stress on an already week flex-joint.

Also I see a Y-pipe here for a '94-'95 but not a '96-'97. So has anyone tried replacing everything with the earlier spec?
