My car has a relatively new A/C compressor in it, and now the clutch is slipping. Anyone else had this problem? when you turn on the A/C, the clutch "tries" to engage, but does not spin the same rpm as the engine.

Ok, if it needs a new clutch, is this something I can do? Can you remove the clutch without "Opening" the compressor?

thanks

You do not have to open the system. You may have to use a special puller, though. It looks like the type that requires a puller. I can't get a real good look at it. Autozone will loan you the tool if you buy the part from them. Good luck!

Got it fixed. Paid $250 for parts and labor, they didn't have to get into the system. It is a 3-piece clutch assembly.
