Code 34: Driver's side air-bag / safing sensor: low resistance or shorted.

Take this one to a dealer.

My car is blinking the same code. Please let me know what the dealer said and what it cost to fix it when/if you take it to the dealer. Thanks

I get the same code, but that's because I removed the air bag.

If you pull the bulb an annoying beep goes off like 34 times every 25 minutes. So, instead I tried painting the bulb black. This didn't cover the light completely so I experimented with different ways to wrap it with electrical tape. (Cover every place, even those tiny cracks where the bulb contacts are.) I took the dash back out later to see it the tape had melted and it did not. So, I think this is a quick inexpensive fix to a expensive problem since I am afraid of the air bag anyway.
