I Know my car is fitted as standard with an immobiliser but what about an alarm? nothing is mentioned in the owners handbook but what are those things in the top corners of the dash looking very much like ultrasonic transmitters and recievers?

Hi John

Look under the bonnet m8 and up at the bulkhead, see if you can see the square sirene box most likely a cobra as this seem to be one they used a lot, it might be switched off if it is there, and you have a little key you got with the car, little key goes in the back off the unit to switch on and off.

you got a 97 car and i would be very supprised if it didn't have a sirene<< spelling :eek: .

Hi One way to test to see if you have a alarm is to leave a door or the boot ajar and lock it, if you don't hear anything after a few seconds you havn't got one m8 @-

I have what looks like two ultrasonic transmitters and recievers
either side of the dash by the windscreen.

they are the tweeters for the music system
I got them as well })

They are the tweeters, but they arn't loud enough to be noticed... so I put another pair up there :D much better now.
