Does anyone with the 'original JDM' headlight capsules know what kind of bulb is used in the headlights?? It looks similar to an H4 but the base is smaller! (I've been trying to figure this out forever!) And is anyone willing to ship me a pair of them??? :D :D

I have a pair of capsules I got from Japan (from a Capella/626) but due to the slightly wider form, I also need the JDM side marker lights for my MX-6 too. If anyone can help me out on any of these items, PLEASE let me know via email or whatever!

THANKS a billion
peace

Will look into shipping for you considering I work for Australia Post!!!

P.S. I will look for the packaging i got my globes in, I am not sure if they are H3 or H4, will write back later.

Hey, lets see some pics! I really have been wanting to see some pics of the japanese mx-6! Did they sell the 1st gen in Japan? If so, what was it called? I am familiar with the european models:)

Whatsup guys,

MX666: They had the 1st gens in Japan but they went by the name 'Capella'... (well I know that the 626 was Capella for sure) anyhow I found a front end from one of them at a Japanese Importer and I bought the light capsules/side markers and grille (the grille looks like the 90-92 626 grille but it has a big "C" in the center as the logo!) Those are on my moms 626 now. I want to switch over the lights to the MX, but I need the side markers because the JDM light capsules are longer- they go farther out from the middle, so my orig. side markers wont fit!

NathsTX: IF you could find some bulbs that would be incredible!!! They just don't exist here in North America (that I know of!) The bulbs look exactly like H4's but the metal base is smaller. Do u know of any unkyards there, that u might find side markers for my car??

get back!

peace

I dont have a digi-cam, if I ever get pics I'll have to scan them on. They look similar to the european lights though

Hi guys,

I actually put that TX5/MX6 site together in Australia mentioned above.

At that stage, it was one of VERY few in OZ..
The TX5 is a 5 door hatch, and came with the 2.2L NA motor, and 2.2L EFI like mine, the same as the engines in 1st Gen probes (after I found out doing a lot of surfing around US based sites!).

Nathan

TX5/626

The blue TX5 are similar to the 83-87 5 door 626 but with different ligths and grille.
The white TX5 are similar to the 88-91 4/5 door 626 but with different ligths and grille
My former car was a 86 5 door 626 with a 2.0 carb engine 102 hp
I have now a 88 4 door 626 with the FE3 engine 148 hp

lol i have a j-spec MX-6!!! mines called a Capella GTS C2, hence my screen name. we have quite a few diff kinds of capella gts here. there arent many around so theres not much chance of finding one identical to your own. i have an 1800 sohc efi 12 valve with bout 88kw and 170 torque inc mods, not 4ws but has sunroof, electrics etc a/c. there are also 1800 dohc with/out 4ws and 2000 dohc with/out 4ws. i dont really know the diff between j-spec headlights and usa type but i cant find any replacement blue xenon style bulbs except for the high beams but not low beams which is real annoying. i went to an auto electrician to get some i showed him the bulb and he said it was the same as hondas bulbs but they only had 1 bulb and theyre $40nz each so i didnt get them. i went back a few weeks later when i had some money but a diff guy said you cant get them, but i saw the 1 bulb that was there and i thought it looked identical and so did the guy that served me first.
lol sorry for the long message:p

p.s. i have many photos of my car when i first got it and when i was rear ended and now with some improvements. dont have scanner etc thou so cant post them. mite be able to get sister to scan them then send them to me so i can post :)

F8

In Norway the F8 SOCH 8v engine was the smallest alternative in
88-91 626

there was also a similar 1600 SOCH 8v engine aviable in the 83-87 626 also this engine was a close relative to the 1,8 and 2,0 F engines ther was no visable differenses betwin them externally

one of my former girlfriends had a 83 626 5 door with the 1600 8 valve engine

at the same time i had a 5 door 626 with the 2,0 8v engine
both cars had carbs

i have also studied a 88 626 sedan with a 1,8 8v engine at a lokal
wreckyard

all of this engines was for shure F engines
and the only Doch F engine before The FS was the [email protected]

yeah, i noticed a few suss things too like the engine horsepower ratings for the 1800
F8 1.8L SOHC 82ps @ 5500 / 13.6kg-m @ 2500
F8 1.8L DOHC 115ps @ 6000 / 16.0kg-m @ 5000
and then it has
1.8L SOHC 115ps @ 6000 / 16.0kg-m @ 5000
so its showing up as the F8 sohc as having the same power and torque as the dohc 1800. is the the F8 8 or 12 valve? the reason i ask is cos i have looked everywhere for a car manual with my engine but i can only find 1.8 8 valve, like a 12valve 1800 sohc doesnt even exist... kinda annoying cos i dont have any manufactures power and torque outputs xept for the suss ones above... however i have had a drag with a standard 1.5 16 valve dohc mazda familia with 115ps, my car has some lite mods an dwe were neck and neck but the familia is 150-200 kgs lighter so it would be ok to think my car standard would be
F8 1.8L DOHC 115ps @ 6000 / 16.0kg-m @ 5000
i have the same wheels as this on my Capella that i got from a wrecker for $900nz with 4 75% worn michelin GTX virages. new tires like that would cost more than what i paid for wheels and tires. they look real good on MX-6s cos they dont look like factory wheels. the tires have great grip virtually no understeer now xept for so much bodyroll you nearly fall over into passenger side. time to get lowered me thinks })
