Hey everyone,

I wanted to know if the 1st gen MX6's are noisy inside the cabin when a 2.5" or 3" turbo back exhaust is installed plus other performance mods such as pod filter, dump pipe, increased boost etc etc.

Curious as the next car I get I want it to be relatively chilled out and quiet inside the cabin, within reason of course

i owned an '89 mx6 for 2yrs and i had a 3inch turbo-back system on it (no dump-pipe). i had a 3inch cat,a hotdog resinator and a stainless muffler on the back and i didnt find it to be too loud at all. i also had a pod filter and 10psi boost.

the car had a nice note to it but wasnt too loud at all. i think if i didnt have the hotdog style resonator it might have given it a bit of a drone inside the cabin.

I think it would depend on the muffler etc that you get.

Girls like to sit in the back of my car as it is loud / vibrates enough to get them off

Cannon style muffler ala. Apexi N1 the way to go for low noise max efficiency?
