hi all
does any body know if the b3 gearbox will bolt to the bp1800 engine are the engine mounts the same???
does the b1800 make reasonable power??
i would like to drop this motor in my bantam as long as it bolts to the b3 gearbox.. and can use the same mounts...
if it fits ill be running it on itbs with mild cams... any info would be much appreciated...
i know i can convert to a fe3n but that would mean using a diff gearbox, crossmember and side shafts...
thanx again

Yes it should bolt up, some BPs did have an "F" series box, however most have the G series. some time in the mid 90s Mazda fitted the F series to some BP motors, prior to that they were all G series on BPs

Bear in mind that the F series is pretty weak, I managed to destroy one with just a mild B3 connected to it....you'd want to be pretty gentle with the BP on the end...

you'll probably find more detail at Fordlaser.com :: Index - Fordlaser.com

It is possible! I know some guys here in austria that swapped a BP DOHC into an B3 BG, but the gearbox didn't llast the power!
Now they got the BP SOHC engine and the gearbox keeps on living! You'll have to use a better clutch (stage 2) cause the normal one holds 3-6months!

The acceleration is insane! fifth gear goes into rev-limiter!
