make sure you take the bolt ALL THE WAY out. i found out the hard way that just loosening it that it will still catch.
ball Joint
Does anyone know if there is any kind of trick/ easy way to separate the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle, because i tried replacing my axle the other day and i couldn't get the ball joint to separate more than a 3/4 inch or so.

i had the bolt all the way out and i took the end link out from the control arm as well because i had thought it was getting held back by that.
just keep trying? its a bitch to do.
It's easy after the first time. Use a pickle fork if you have to. If you unbolted the knuckle from the strut, it would be easier.
I was always able to get the cv's out without removing the knuckle. I would just unbolt it from the strut and turn it to the side.

are the bolts that attach the knuckle to the strut eccentric for alignment, or are they just regular bolts? I didn't take note to that when i had the wheel off.
Stock the are just regular bolts.
