Hi there ... I live in Stockton CA i do go to SF quite often ... right now i am trying to see what the heck it's going on with my O2 sensor cause i keep replacing it and i still get errors ... i have a 97 mx6 2.5 ... a really nice ride but i can't pass the smog ...

guess not many in our area that visits this forum.

I was in santa cruz. Its a bit of a haul to get to sacramento from here. I would have liked to have been at the dyno day as the autocross car needs a new baseline, but with the distance and the tow vehicle having issues(mechanic finally found it...misfire on cyl #1) I stayed home. If there is another dyno day somewhat more central, Ill try to make that one.

I couldnt go either ... very busy over the weekend with extra job ... i would go anywhere cause im right in the middle same distance to SF or to Sac. Well maybe Sac is closer ... a bit

the mx6 and ford probe share the same engine.
so it might be just the valve cover, or might be the engine swapped from a probe. it doesnt really matter.
the engine is the klde. it's about 164 hp and 160 ft lbs of torque.
there's not really much aftermarket for our cars.

when you mean upgrade engine, do you mean internally?
or are you talking about the boltons?

you should search stuff first, look at stickies.

hey.. i'm in san francisco right now, and i saw this blue? spoilerless 6 with sweet mesh type rims.
it was parked in stowstown near mcdonalds.. right next to campus.

it was pretty sweet, too bad i didnt have my camera with me.

jewels - awww really? i wish i was there haha im always over there because i go to SFSU. if you ever see a red mx6 with an OEM black wing and a white zoom-zoom sticker on the rear windshield be sure to say hello.

wow I'm surprised there are people still around. I used to go to SFSU and graduated from there over a year ago. I'm still residing near the campus in the sunset district.

If you see a blue mx6 with black painted lowers, jdm black front and rear bumpers, its me!

jewels318, that mx6 may have been me. How long ago was it? Cause I had mesh rims(black w/ polished lip) for most of winter 07-08.

yea it was really clean looking too, not sure about the black pieces cause it was pretty dark.

There are multiple smog devices on any car. The exhaustO2 sensor may not be the problem. If you are using a diagnostics code reader, the code may be off. Especially for OBDI cars, when they were still perfecting the system. Try using different brands and see if you get varied codes. Otherwise, the only way to get your car to pass smog will be trial and error of each smog sensor until it passes smog.
