I was crusing in my mx and i pulled up to a red light last night. An idiot in a 99 mustang pulled beside me, reved their engine, and we opened it up when the light turned green. through we pretty much stayed side by side, but when i popped it into 2nd though i pulled ahead... 3rd still ahead. when we hit 75 it was pretty close, but the mx prevailed!

well was it a 98 or a 99?

A 99 would rape you... a 98 would be pretty close

which one?

The 98 didn't have pi heads b/c if it did, it would have killed you too.

Good kill though if it was a 98. Their head flow is so bad they have trouble making good power.

Good kill:tup:

But how do you know that it was a 98? I could of been a 94-98 (94-95 having the 5.0) The slight difference includes different style tail light's and different 17" wheels for the 98.

I completely agree with aggie that if it was a 99+ that it would of raped you in every way possible.

Congratilations aggie You've managed to corrupt yet another person, who used to doubt Mustangs
I don't think all mustangs are gods of the road. The 94-98 Mustangs were terrible, and a HUGE lacker in performance.

The 99+ cars though are great. They get up and go, sound great from the factory, and I like the look, but not everyone does. They respond GREAT to power adders, and have ton of potential. The market on them is still new and growing, so it is an exciting time to own one.

A midly modded mx6 (hell even a mx6 with a good driver) will hang and beat most stock 94-98 Stangs. The 99+ is a different story.

Sorry you don't like me if that is the case. I never meant to upset you in anyway if I have done so.

sorry bout the confusion, the damn buttons are so close... it was a 98... 1998 to be more specific.
it happens... good kill man!!!

Even with exhaust work, those thi0ngs will still run low 15s if they don't have a head swap from a newer one. But when the do, they are just as fast as my generation.

I never took anything you said offencive, in fact I've agreed with 9 out of 10 of your posts. So no you haven't upset me, and I never said or implied that I don't like you. So I don't understand where you got that idea from:shrug:I never meant to offend you in any way aggie.

In case you forgot, I used to own a Fox Body 5.0 (1989) So I have nothing but respect and support for Mustangs (V8's) If money was no issue (I wish) I would opt for a LS1. I'm not into the whole Ford vs. Chevy crap, I have respect for a lot of cars in different ways.

I only got rid of my 5.0 because it was a piece of crap (you get what you pay for) and I decided to stick with import's from there on.

And sorry for not reading you post with sarcasim Caffeine. I thought my respond to that was funny (to me)

Sorry to get a little off topic, but my roommate's friend has a v6 mustang, he said it has a head swap and exhaust work. The first time I rode in it, I didn't know anything was done to it. But the way it felt, it seemed to be a v8, and I thought maybe it was an option or something. I don't really know much about them, but I asked him how fast it was, and he just told me it would do 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Could that much of an improvement be made on a v6 just with head swap and exhaust?

The 94-98 V6 Mustang's are the slowest V6 powered 2 door cars out there. The 99+ is 200hp and can do the 1/4 mile in mid 15's (5 speed)

So to get a V6 Mustang to go 0-60 in 5 second's will take a lot more than head work and exhaust. Maybe with a 75 shot of nitrous, and on slicks.

A 6 speed LS1 powered Camaro/Trans Am will do 0-60 in a little over 5 second's, so do you think a lightly modded V6 Mustang will be anywhere near that?

Hope that answers your question

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Maybe it was a combination of the exhaust and being in the back seat that made it feel fast. Maybe I can get him to race sometime and we'll see.
