ever since i've owned my mx6, the brakes have felt really crappy. they dont apply enough pressure, there is too much play in the pedal, etc. but tahts a different story....

if i am braking hard and hit a bump (like a rail track) the brake pedal will drop almost to the flow and i lose almost all my braking power. what the hell is happening here? i have all new calipers pads and rotors all around. could this be a master cylinder or brake booster malfunction?

to test brake booster

turn your motor off apply brakes many times until pedal comes hard

apply and hold brakes and start the motor

if the brake pedal goes further than the brake booster is working

try changing brake fluid by doing a brake bleed on all for wheels until all the dirty fluid is out (replace with new dot 3 fluid)

Check your brake master cylinder. See if brake fluid level is low. If you don't know...it's located on the firewall of your engine. Looking at the engine, it's on the top right side. If it's leaking you'll see brake fluid coming out. It's very easy to replace.
