As Mike said top of the fluid, the sensor for the level must be very sensitive. As the pads wear down, the fluid level decreases, so it might be a good time to check the pads to see if they need changing too.
If your brake light comes on everytime you drive your car and your brakes are fine and hand brake is off and the light still comes on, you might want to fill you brake fuild, if your brake fluid is low then you brake light will stay on, i have had this problem and it fixed it.
