Cafe shield, yay or nay

Not sure what i think of it, i wanted one for my kawa originally but now after seeing one i'm not so sure. I've seen another style rather than the bullet fairing, its a shoei and its got more lines on it and a more stealth fighter look but i dunno about this one. What do you guys think?

looks old school or something
the shield or the bike lol

It is a 76, only one year younger than mine....................

Which are both "old skool"

but on a serious note does it look like it shouldn't be there to you? I haven't seen a lot of triples with them and i want one for looks and function. But then my head would REALLY have to be sloped over to stay out of the wind. I do like how they hide all the cables and wires in the front but it still looks out of place for some reason.
looks like it flows well from that picture i suppose. the fender is rounded like the sheild i suppose so it works.

maybe it just needs to be body matched. I can't figure out if thats what makes it look weird or just the fairing itself. I might have to do some photoshopping in a few..........O CRAP.

Speaking on that i was supposed to do some stuff for you. Dude i completely forgot.
YEA BABY!!!

Someone in austrilia is selling me the needle and a new circlip for postage only!!!! Can't wait to see this thing run as it should. I'm so frigen excited :D

I also think i'm going to do what that guy did and detail some small part of the bike with its colors. I might leave the front fender alone now. Its still heavily pitted but not noticeable unless your a foot or two away. Here's what he did with his:

i plan on doing it much nicer since his paint looks faded and is chipping but i think some black on the case and maybe highlight the headlight. I dont' know if i'm crazy about the carb detail either. Again i'll tinker with photo tongiht. I'm bored and awake.

Just noticed he hose clamped the fuel lines....................seems a little unneeded since they really have no pressure in them lol. Mine dont' really leak either, the bottom of the petcock bowl does but whatever. Probably due to my "kohler" universal faucet o-rings. The petcock bowl one was a little big but i figure i would see if it leaked or not. Which it does so i'll proably order a new one. Either that or a new petcock.

i like it.. verry cool i want.

so if i just plague the site with more triple images you'll get one then lol.

I'm serious dude, the fan base of these things is a lot like mx6.com.

Its not real big unless you go to kawasaki worldwide index. There are hundreds of guys in other countries that have some of these bastards over 120hp. And naturally there are tons of different tanks, paint everything. They are pretty wild bikes. That and i'm kinda looking for maybe a suzuki GT380. Its a 2 stroke triple as well but its pretty neat looking too. But i'm putting my collection list on hold lol. I have to get this one plated first. After that i'm shooting for another maybe.
Sweet bike:tup:

Not really a fan of the shield though, rounds the front off a little too much; Whats the other shield look like??
i'll see if i can find a good pic of one, hold on.
couldn't find it on a bike but here's the one i think i want to hunt down

i found one ima go look at localy on my day off tuesday.

:) its a 74
The first one you posted looks ok, but they're a little big for my tastes, and being a cafe fairing, it needs some clubman's or clip-ons so the bars come out in the opening at the side. Makes it flow a little (a lot) better with the bike. Here's the same year and model of my bike with clubman bars and that style fairing. My bike will look something like this minus the fairing and front fender. I'm also relocating the battery and making some sheet metal covers to replace the stock side covers.

It's an 8 valve DOHC 500. Parellel twin. Check my build thread in General Automotive. I'm about to throw up a coiuple pictures of the small amount of progress I've got done.
wow going to check that out def!

can i street legal a 125?
wait nevermind... lol
wait nevermind... lol
depends. Anything over 50 cc you need a permit or license for.

There's actually a ducati 125. Its like 1970 i believe. And belive it or not and i don't know who the hell would buy one but there's the '76 kawasaki kh100 lol.

My dad said he used to have a honda 90 a long time ago and even used it on the interstate. I'm sure you would die doing that now but just goes to show how small an engine can be and how productive it can be at the same time.

Check out your craigslist. I promise you'll find something someone wants to get rid of. Grab yourself 2 2x6's, stack them together and get pickup truck with some straps. Next thing you know you have a fun project that will promise a grin that goes from ear to ear when your finished.
