I would say its not worth the trouble, unless you are building a full on race engine. First it will probably make the ports smaller, unless you enlarge them. It will not really cool down the engine because what heats up the engine is not the exhaust but the explosions in the cylinders. Which is why there are coolant lines running around them. But it will help the exhaust flow, because it will keep the exhaust just a little bit hotter, since its hotter it will move faster.
