I am thinking about replacing the strut and shock assemblies on all four tires. I am wondering if it is a big job and take it to the mechanic or do it myself. I can find the parts for $50US each. Any thoughts?

If you're getting the entire assemblies with the springs already in them, then definately do it yourself. It's very easy to do. Get a Hayne's manual, it'll be even easier. I did my front, (rear this weekend) but I only replaced the springs. So what I did was take out the struts, and brought them in with the springs I had to a shop. They put in the springs for like $30, then I just put them back in. Real easy. Be sure to get an alignment when you're done. I also think you should spend a little more and get lowering springs. If you've got everything out anyway, may as well...
