I am having a problem with my charging system, but to give you a quick run down:

Friday night, dissy rotor decides to break and short out on the dissy cap, killing battery and alternator...

Replace both (bugger of a job for the alternator) but I still can only read 12V accross the battery and its loosing power after 30 minutes of driving...

I am thinking I have burnt out *something* I just dont know what!

Does anyone have any ideas??

sounds like regulator and to do so if it's new I say a bad connection of a possible short before the line gets to the main fuse

found the problem...

the alternator supplied has a U groove for the belt, not the V grooves the the stocker has...

it flipped the belt over and stripped it right back...

Better phone repco tomorrow see if they have the correct part or try to take to pully off the old one and replace it on the new one.

Either way - the new one has to come out - not looking forward to that job again.
