When you guys race with ATX, do you chicken shift? I know the ATX is not very strong tranny but does chicken shifting hurt it even if I shift right before redline?

Shifting before RedLine won't hurt engine much..
but remember to maintance your tranny. Check Tranmission Oil, change it if necessary, put "Redline" brand tran. Oil if possible, and you are good to go..

When I want more power for my ATX, I would shift "semi-automatic". In that way, I can stay in RPM I want..

:) good luck

What do yo umean semiautomatic? How do I do that?

You shift your autogear into L or 2... instead of D.
Unless you have what SuperFlyMx6 said, or else don't do that often... your torque converter can't handle much, especially Mx6 Atx one

There is nothing wrong doing that, just like you shift before redline in Manual.

Just remember don't go over redline and you should be fine. And check your tranmission oil, make sure it is good so you don't overheat . . .
