I have been getting the code on the check engine light for quite a while. Sometimes it comes on, sometimes it doesn't.
Car runs fine either way. Only difference seems to be the car may stumble slightly at low speeds when accelerating. Since
the car runs fine, what can be causing the ckp to give the code ? Can it be the wiring going to the ckp sensor ? That is what I am guessing, since the car is 28 years old, and wires in several other places have had shorts. I have no idea what else it might be.

dizzy, cap, rotors, alternator, fuel pump, VAF, vac leak to name a few

The only code that usually comes when code 02 ckp is on is code 29 EVAP canister. The Haynes manual talks about a 2 way valve on the fuel tank, and also a 2 way valve near the canister. Have you ever replaced these ? The vacuum lines and soleniod are fine.

No codes now for 5 days. Gas mileage average 25 mpg.

Cleared the codes, didn't do anything to the car, and they have not returned. But I am sure they will.
