just wanted to know what you guys think of clamping springs to lower your ride, instead of getting coilovers or lowering springs. its much more cheaper to clamp them. I've already got some info from 93_black_beauty who has tried it and says that everything goes great except that the ride quality lessens a bit.

tell me what you think

springs

I don't know about lowering, but I've tried to raise my rear end and bought spring expanders/squeezers at PepBOys for $10 a piece. Car was raised a little, but handling on turns became poor, you know, I like'em turns on 40mph, but the body roll was too noticeable, I'd say scarry.:eek:

From experience on other cars. I used big cable clamps and the ride height doesn't get effected that much. but I guess if you put more in you could keep dropping it. But your ride itself will be very rough.

I've got bulldog {cable clamps} on the front of my MX
It does make the ride firmer, but I actually prefer it like this. I managed to fit 3 on each spring, sort of progressively around the spring in the middle {vertically, not at the top or bottom }
It dropped about an inch.
I know it is frowned upon by most but it works for me!
And if you don’t like them you can just take them off.. GIVE THEM A GO!!
