Nahh man... they're not clear. I just have the stock red and orange ones that I took off my car before I put the kit on. I'm saying if snyone wants to play with them and MAKE them clear... I'm willing to sell them.
Well, you gott aheat up the housing in order to melt the glue. Then remove the plastic cover from the bulb housing. Then, you have to fabricate another cover for the housing. Unfortunately, the "red" and "yellow" that you see on the sidemarkers are not a separate piece than the cover itseld. The red and yellow ARE the cover. I also heard some people dip then in blech or something like that... Other than that... i have no idea.
There is a website you can go to that sells side markers for MX-6's. Go to http://www.clearcorners.com, I think they are about $85 a pair. Not too sure if you want to pay that much for some, but thought I would let you know....peace.
You can just replacer the amber or red portion with a piece of plexiglassand screw it in from the backside with chrome screws. It won't be water tight but it works well. I've had mine on for aver a year without any problems. Well one problem but that had to do with the legality of the bulb color I used. Just click on the 'My MX-6' link in my signature to see them.
I just visited http://www.clearcorners.com and for a Mazda MX6 they want $85.00 for the front pair and if you want a rear pair its another $85.00. Thats a lot of cash if you ask me. I'm going to try to make them myself.
the clear cover side markers are not illegal, but you have to put in the correct color bulbs.(yellow or amber for the front; red/amber for the rear) If you have other color bulbs, you will get a ticket.
I keep getting asked the same question, where did I get my clear corners from. In Australia the G2 MX6 came with clear front corners. You may be able to pick them up at Adelaide Jap Dismantlers in Australia http://www.adelaidejap.com.au
