Ram air? What ram air? Did you install a hood scoop?
There are only 3 kinds of intakes for this car, the stock box, a cone filter off the VAF (WAI), and one that heads to the ground (CAI).
Neither offer a terrible increase in power. The cooler air from a CAI is felt through the entire RPM range, and the cone filter gives you a little more breathing room at the top end. It is noticeable and worth the money if you have it to spare, but nothing spectacular.
The coolest thing about a cone filter is the sound it makes at WOT, although after a few weeks you get used to it and it's not so exciting anymore.
Cold air is much better for both of those. And short ram air intakes only give noticeably better performance if you also have sort of a hood scoop to feed the intake filter. Otherwise you're just pulling in a lot of hot air from under the hood. It makes a sweet noise but it doesn't really help your performance too much. Hope this helps.
